TikTok Launches New Revenue Program for Long-Form Videos

TikTok, the popular short-video app that has taken the world by storm, is now offering a new way for its creators to earn money on its platform. The company announced that it is launching a new program that will allow creators to monetize their 1+ minute long-form videos.

The program is part of TikTok's efforts to support and reward its diverse and talented community of creators, who have been producing engaging and creative content on the app. According to TikTok, the program will provide more flexibility and opportunities for creators to showcase their skills and passions in longer videos.

The Creativity Program is a new monetization tool for TikTok creators that is based on learnings and feedback from TikTok creators⁵. It is currently in beta and invite-only¹². Unlike the Creator Fund, which pays creators based on a set pool of funds, the Creativity Program pays creators based on qualified views and RPM (revenue per thousand impressions)¹². The program also requires creators to make longer videos (more than one minute) to be eligible for earning¹²³⁴.

• The program is different from the current Creator Fund, which has been criticized for its fluctuating and declining payouts.

• The program will be available to selected creators in beta and then to all eligible US creators in the coming months.

• TikTok hopes that this will be a better solution than the current process and keep creators from moving to other platforms like YouTube and Reels.

One of the creators who is excited about this new program is Skyler Beastie (@skylerbeastie), a drone enthusiast and filmmaker who has been on TikTok since 2018 - Skyler was one of the initial paid creators for TikTok back then.

"As a creator passionate about drone content and filmography, it's super important that TikTok is prioritizing long-form videos. It allows creators to utilize different skills and create content that feels authentically like them," Skyler says.

Skyler's work has been featured in articles by Samsung Photography and more, and he has amassed millions of views on TikTok. He says that he loves using TikTok because it gives him a platform to share his passion with a global audience.

"TikTok is an amazing app that connects people from all over the world through videos. I've met so many amazing people through TikTok, and I've learned so much from other creators as well," he says.

Skyler says that he plans to use the new revenue program to create more long-form videos that showcase his drone skills and his cinematic style. He also hopes to inspire other creators to explore their creativity and try new things on TikTok.

"I think this program will encourage more creators to experiment with different formats and genres on TikTok. There are so many possibilities with long-form videos, and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with," he says.

TikTok says that the new revenue program will be available for select creators in certain regions at first, but it will expand to more markets in the future. This is actually my boyfriend’s favorite dish! He is the one who introduced me to this dessert and I have never looked back since haha.

You can make this with pre-made ingredients like sugar cookie dough and canned frosting and just place canned fruit on top as well!

However, I think this recipe definitely tastes much better doing it from scratch. You can really taste the vanilla, cream, and fruit flavors much more clearly.

Plus, you can edit the amount of sugar that you put into the cookie and frosting!

For me I’ve noticed that store-bought ingredients and desserts often are too sweet and have a lot of artificial ingredients. This way you can control the portions and taste to the tee.

You have to give this a try, it’s much easier than you think!

I’m a beginner baker and chef myself and this took no time at all.

If you prep the fruit cutting beforehand and make the frosting ahead of time, you can assemble everything right before the party/occasion so that the cookie is still crisp and the fruit is still firm.

New Kid On The Block 🐻

It’s the New Year - so excited for what this year of 2021 is going to bring. I think we’re all looking forward to a year of empowerment.

Easiest Festival Hairstyle EVER

 This summer has a been a whirlwind of one festival to another. I had my first festival experience this year at Coachella, but that wasn’t enough for me. I went to Revolve Festival, am preparing to go to 88rising, and most recently attended Splash House in Palm Springs.

Honestly, festivals can be tiring! There’s a lot of planning involved with festivals, like hotels, outfits, makeup, and hair. That’s why I’m sharing the easiest festival hair style ever that I wore all throughout Splash House. Keep reading for the tutorial!  

What you’ll need:

-       Heated styling tool: my choice is the Bed Head Blow Out Freak

-       Hair jewelry like rings, charms, and sparkly clips or hair glitter

-       A few hair ties

Step 1:

Start with either damp or dry hair. I started with damp hair, blowing drying it with my Bed Head Blow Out Freak. I love using the Bed Head Blow Out Freak because it combines a blow dryer and styler, helping me save room in my suitcase and save time after showering.

If you’re starting with dry hair or day old hair, I feel you! Spray some dry shampoo in your roots and you’re good to go. I also like to use my Bed Head Blow Out Freak tool on dry hair because it has bristles for detangling, Tourmaline Ceramic to bring back shine to dull hair, and multiple heat settings.

Step 2:

Tease your hair and give it volume + waves with your styling tool. I style with the Bed Head Blow Out Freak.

Step 3:

Section off a small portion of hair and braid it, tying it with a small hair tie. You can tug at the strands of brand to loosen the braid and give it more volume.

Step 4:

Repeat step 2 on multiple sections of hair. Choose pieces that will frame your face.

Step 5:

Attach the hair jewelry to your hair. I chose to use jump rings with charms on the end. You just stick them into your braids and it looks really cute! You can also use barrettes, hair clips, or even hair glitter.

My Dorm Essentials

Back to School Season is coming around (can’t believe it’s already here!) I’m always scrambling to get my life together right before school, especially when it comes to decorating and furnishing a dorm. There are so many options to choose from, so I put together some dorm essentials that are must-haves. Read on!

 Must haves:

1. Over-the-door shelving: space is so hard to find and hard to use well. Bathroom doors and front doors are the perfect hidden places to hang shelving!

2.  Plants, either fake or real! I think they add so much life and color to a windowsill and room in general.

3. Game Console: College is the place to meet new friends, and what is easier to bond over than entertainment? Xbox sent me their new Xbox One All-Digital S All Digital to try, and it’s become one of my college dorm / apartment essentials. aThis console doesn’t have any disks (all the games are online) so it’s super easy to set up in a dorm and play. This also means I can’t lose any of the game disks LOL. I got myself the Game Pass which comes with over 100 games; everyone can find a game they like and it won’t cost anything extra.

For a chill night in, you can also stream from sites like Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, Hulu, and more, even if you don’t have a Smart TV.

5. Storage bins / plastic dressers: Keep your winter stuff in easy to carry storage bins. If you have too many clothes like me, keep some of your clothes in plastic dressers. When summer move-out comes around, you’ll thank me!

Making Money Moves - Quick Tips I Learned

Hey everyone, thank you so much for coming to my blog. It's been a long time since I've been on here, but I wanted to share with you some of the important lessons I learned about money during my experience with Zelle last week.

Here is the key takeaway I had:

1.It's time for young people, especially young women to take control of their own finances.

Even the most accomplished women sometimes are still not very well-versed with how to deal with finances and how to deal with their money. Not because they're not able or smart enough, but because they've been told that they can't. Zelle wants to empower women to take control of their own financial independence - whether it’s paying your parents back or requesting friends to pay you back for dinner, Zelle is there to help.

2. 80% of women avoid talking about money.

Let’s open up that conversation. Talk to your boss about that pay raise. Advocate for yourself at your job and let your higher ups know that you’ve been working hard. You can take charge of your own money moves.
